Dinner - Local's Favorite

For the most authentic experience, we'll ask a local for their favorite place. We'll make new friends, taste food recommended by "la familia," and wander off the beaten path. As they say: "When in Rome..."

Religious Experience

While every glorious day is a "religious" experience, we'd love to experience the Holy Seat of Catholicism: St. Peter's, the Vatican, the Sistine Chapel, and St. Raphael's Room. We understand you can feel God here on many different levels.

Exploring History Tours

Two days spent exploring the history of Rome, Naples & Pompeii, including Ancient Rome and the Colosseum, Mount Vesuvius and the Pompeii ruins. Someone once predicted a past life connection for JC if she visted there. (It will be interesting to see what is familiar or not.) Either way, we will love the exploration and the adventure!

Red & White Wines

We will explore the country roads of Italy, on a Bacchus-inspired journey (Roman god of wine) stopping at quaint shops and vineyards along the way. From Orvieto (famous for its whites) to Chianti and Siena (famous for its reds) and local stops in between we will sample and search for our Italian favorites and bring a few bottles home to share with you!

Religious Pilgrimages

From the hills of Assisi (home of St. Francis) to the Catacombs of Romes, every day we will take time to explore the spiritual centers of Italy, from the simplest chapels in small towns to the grand cathedrals. We will pray for the blessing of a long marriage, for the blessing of all our family and friends, and for peace. We will offer a prayer for your special intention, which we hope you will share will us.

Renaissance Art

From Botticelli to DaVinci to Michaelangelo's David, we want to stand before the great art of Florence's Accademia and Uffizi Galleries and behold Renaissance greatness. We want it to take our breath away and inspire us to continued creativity....

Tuscany Bike Tour

A day-long bike tour of the Tuscany hills, where we will combine our passion for exercise, the outdoors, local food, wine, and going off the beaten path. A perfect JC and Ruben day!

Regional Cuisine - Class

In honor of the many delicious meals JC has enjoyed preparing for her friends and family in her fabulous Sedona kitchen, we would like to spend a day in a Bologna/Florence cooking class (where parmesean cheese and balsamic vinegar originated) so that JC can expand her delectible repertoire of meals to include authentic Tuscan and Italian cuisine!

Regional Tour - Pisa

Since Ruben and I look at the world a little askew anyway...we figured a half-day trip from Florence to the Leaning Tower of Pisa might make the world look straight up and down! It can't hurt, can it?!

Walk & Future Run Tour

An inspired art and architechture walking tour through the streets of Florence, where we will get to know the piazzaolas, cafes, and marketplaces for a future run (Ruben's speed) through the town, as well as future run for espressos and canolis (JC's speed).

Fine Chocolate Tour

Sweets for the sweethearts - with a visit to a traditional cioccolateria (chocolate maker) in Florence, complete with six to-die-for desserts, including hand-made chocolates, biscuits, fruit and wine. A vertical Ruben fantasy!

Romance-Venice

The ultimate Venetian romantic experience - a gondola ride and serenade along the Grand Canal. "Kitchy" and so cliche - but the perfect honeymoon experience!

Dance, Dance, Dance

An evening out on the town (perhaps in Rome, or Florence, or Venice), to dance, dance, dance -- just like it was the first night we met. "Heaven, I'm in heaven when we're dancing cheek to cheek..." Check off on the bucket list: Tarantella in Italy!

Local B&Bs

To heighten the connection with "la familia", to get a real Italian experience, while getting the scoop on the best off-the-beaten-path places, we are planning for rooms in local B&Bs. We'll run our own baths, bring our favorite wines, put our own chocolates on the pillows, and have a lovely intimate honeymoon in close quarters that feel very homey (just the way we like it!).

Rental Car - Country Tour

Rental car for four days, allowing us to explore the Umbria and Tuscany countryside -- something small, fuel efficient, very European!

Trains-Taxis-Metro-Gas

A variety of transportation assistance - such as taxis from the airport, trains between Florence and Venice, subways & buses in Rome, gas for our rental car. Thanks so much....

Airfare Assistance

Going in off-season, we hope to find two super-fare tickets for our first ever European trip! (You could say we're European virgins, but this trip will fix that! Tee-hee!)
